Purina Fido Dog Range
Fido is a Nestlé Purina sub-brand positioned for the French dog food market, offering complete and balanced dry croquettes at a mid-market price point. All Fido products are formulated to EU standards for complete pet food, meaning they provide all required nutrients for a healthy adult dog without supplementation.
- Purina Fido Beef & Vegetable 7kg: the flagship adult dog dry food in the large 7kg family pack — beef as the primary protein with mixed vegetables. A complete balanced food for adult dogs. Purina Fido Croq' Mix Poultry & Vegetable 7kg and Croq' Mix Beef & Vegetable 3kg: the Croq' Mix variant uses a mixed kibble format combining different croquette shapes and flavours for variety. Purina Fido Mix Chicken & Vegetable 12kg: the large 12kg bulk format for households with multiple dogs or large breeds. Purina Fido Mix Poultry & Vegetable Senior 2.5kg: a senior-specific formula for older dogs — typically with a modified protein and fat profile to account for reduced activity and changed metabolic needs in ageing dogs.
Friskies Dog Range
Friskies is a Nestlé Purina brand with a long history in the European and French pet food market. The Friskies dog range covers life-stage specific and lifestyle-specific formulations:
- Friskies Small Dog Chicken & Vegetable 1.5kg: a complete dry food specifically sized and formulated for small breeds — kibble size is reduced to suit smaller jaw and dental structure. Friskies Chicken & Vegetable Light 3kg: a reduced-fat, lower-calorie formulation for less active or overweight dogs — lower caloric density per 100g than standard Friskies while maintaining complete nutrition.
- Friskies Junior Chicken Croquettes with Milk 3kg: a growth formulation for puppies and young dogs — higher protein and fat content compared with adult foods to support muscle development and energy needs during growth. The addition of milk derivatives provides calcium for bone development. Suitable for puppies from weaning through to 12 months (depending on breed size).
- Friskies Vitafit Beef Croquettes 3kg and Vitafit Beef Croquettes 12kg: the Vitafit range is Friskies' standard adult complete food — the 12kg format is an economy bulk format. Friskies Vitafit Chicken & Vegetable Croquettes 3kg: poultry-based Vitafit variant. Friskies Vitafit Chicken, Beef & Vegetables 12kg: a mixed protein large-format option.
Friskies Cat Range
The Friskies cat products in this collection are all sterilised cat formulations — dry food designed specifically for neutered or spayed cats, who have different nutritional requirements from entire cats. Sterilisation reduces hormone-driven activity, lowers metabolic rate and increases the risk of weight gain; sterilised cat foods typically carry a lower fat content, higher fibre, and adjusted mineral levels (particularly reduced magnesium and phosphorus) to support urinary tract health in less active cats.
- Friskies Sterilised Salmon & Vegetable Cat Food 1.5kg: salmon protein with vegetables — fish-based formulation for cats with a preference for seafood protein. Friskies Sterilised Lamb & Vegetable Cat Food 1.5kg: lamb variant — a less common protein source that suits cats with sensitivity to standard poultry formulations. Friskies Sterilised Turkey & Vegetable Cat Food 1.5kg: turkey-based variant — lean white meat protein suited for weight management in sterilised cats.
Physyo Grain-Free Dog Range
Physyo is Epicerie Corner's own-brand grain-free dry dog food range. Grain-free formulations replace cereal-based carbohydrates (wheat, maize, barley) with alternative starch sources such as sweet potato, peas or lentils — designed for dogs with grain sensitivity or intolerance, or for owners seeking a diet closer to an ancestral meat-based feeding model.
- Physyo Grain-Free Adult Dog Food 2kg: a natural, complete formulation for adult dogs — no added grain cereals. Physyo Grain-Free Growth Dog Food 2kg: the growth variant for puppies — a higher-protein, higher-fat grain-free formula supporting development in younger dogs.

Pet Food FAQs
What is the difference between complete and complementary pet food?
EU pet food labelling law (Regulation (EC) 767/2009) requires dry pet food to be classified as either complete or complementary. A complete food contains all the nutrients required by the animal in the correct proportions — it can be fed as the sole source of nutrition without any supplementation. A complementary food is designed to be fed alongside other foods to form a complete diet — it lacks one or more required nutrients at adequate levels and must be combined with other products. All products in this collection are complete foods: they carry the mandatory declaration "complete pet food" on the label and are formulated to meet the nutritional standards published by FEDIAF (the European Pet Food Industry Federation), which publishes tables of minimum and maximum nutrient requirements for dogs and cats at each life stage. When selecting a complete food, the relevant variables are life stage (puppy/kitten, adult, senior), size class (small, medium, large breed), and activity level — these determine the energy density and protein/fat ratio appropriate for the individual animal.
Why do sterilised cat foods have a different formulation?
Sterilisation removes the main source of sex hormones in cats — oestrogen and testosterone — which drive activity, territorial behaviour and reproduction-related energy expenditure. After sterilisation, a cat's energy requirement drops by approximately 20–30% compared with an entire cat of the same weight and age. Without dietary adjustment, sterilised cats are at significantly higher risk of obesity. Sterilised-specific cat foods address this by reducing caloric density (lower fat, higher fibre) to support satiety without excess energy. They also typically adjust mineral levels — particularly reducing magnesium and phosphorus — to reduce the risk of struvite and calcium oxalate urinary crystals, which are more common in cats with lower water intake and reduced activity. Most veterinary nutritionists recommend transitioning to a sterilised formulation within a few weeks of the procedure and maintaining it for the cat's adult life.
