Its name comes from the French verb cajoler, to cuddle, which reflects the brand's focus on softness. Fabric softener is added during the final rinse of a wash. It coats the fibres to reduce stiffness and static, so towels and clothes feel softer, and it leaves a lasting fragrance on clean laundry.

How to Use Cajoline

Pour the recommended dose into the fabric softener compartment of your washing machine, usually marked with a flower symbol, before starting the wash. The machine releases it automatically during the final rinse. For hand washing, add the softener to the last rinse water, leave the laundry to soak briefly, then wring it out without rinsing again.

• Dose correctly: follow the measure on the cap and the dosage chart on the bottle; more is not better.
• Check care labels: softener is not recommended for some fabrics, such as microfibre cloths, technical sportswear and some flame-resistant children's nightwear, as it can reduce their performance.
• Towels: using softener every wash can reduce absorbency over time, so some people use it every other wash.
