Product Description
The name of this cheese comes straight from Holland, a few miles north of Amsterdam. This is where the small port of Edam is located, famous for its cheese shops. The cheese is cleaned, drained, stirred, and washed before being pressed into round moulds, immersed in brine for a few days, then matured, coated with paraffin to be marketed. Raw, it is a good cheese to use to make snacks and sandwiches. In Holland, it is served in thin slices, to be eaten for breakfast with toast.
Ingredients
Pasteurised cow's milk, salt, lactic ferments, animal rennet, colourant: E160a non-edible rind.
