Ingredients 

  • 200 g sliced raclette cheese

  • 4 thick slices of rustic bread (baguette or country loaf)

  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil

  • 1 clove garlic (optional)

  • ½ apple, thinly sliced (e.g., Granny Smith)

  • 4 cornichons (small pickles), sliced

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • Optional: handful of arugula or microgreens for freshness

Instructions

1. Prep the Toast

  • Preheat your broiler (grill setting) or a hot pan.

  • Lightly brush bread slices with butter or olive oil. For extra flavor, rub bread with a cut garlic clove.

2. Layer the Cheese

  • Place bread slices on an oven tray or heat-resistant plate.

  • Top evenly with raclette cheese slices, ensuring full coverage.

3. Broil or Melt

  • Broil cheese-topped bread for 3–5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  • If using a pan, cover and melt over low heat until oozy.

4. Add Toppings

  • Arrange apple slices and cornichon on top of the melted cheese.

  • Season with a sprinkle of black pepper.

5. Serve & Garnish

  • Slide toasts onto a serving board.

  • Add a handful of arugula or microgreens for freshness and color.

  • Serve immediately—cheese is best enjoyed molten.
